Guides and articles on Davis WeatherLink: getting a v2 API key, the WeatherLink cloud and app, and moving beyond its built-in dashboard.

Davis WeatherLink is the cloud service and app that put a Davis Instruments station (Vantage Pro2, Vantage Vue, and the WeatherLink Live or Console gateway) online. It stores your readings, powers the WeatherLink mobile app, and issues the free v2 API key that any outside website needs to read your data. The guides below cover getting that key, the difference between the WeatherLink Basic and Pro plans, and what to do when the built-in dashboard is not enough.

The one thing WeatherLink does not give you is a website of your own: the dashboard lives at a weatherlink.com address, on a fixed layout, with a short history window on the free plan. Pro Weather reads the same account through the v2 API and turns it into a branded public site with a permanent archive, without changing anything about your hardware or the WeatherLink app.
