Publish to Weather Underground and your own website

Pro Weather can upload your station data to Weather Underground automatically. You register the station with Weather Underground once to get a station ID and upload key, enter both in the dashboard, and from then on every refreshed observation is formatted and relayed for you, normally about every 5 minutes. There is no separate uploader program to install and nothing that has to run at home.

Weather Underground is the largest of the community networks, advertising over 250,000 personal weather stations on its map. Registering is free: create an account at wunderground.com, open My Profile and then My Weather Stations, and a short wizard asks for your location and hardware before issuing the two credentials the relay needs. A US station ID looks like KXXCITY123 (K, a two-letter state code, a city abbreviation, and a number), while stations outside the US typically start with I. The ID is always all capitals, and the station key is a separate, case-sensitive credential generated per station. Mixing the two networks up is the classic silent failure: a CWOP-style ID such as CW1234 pasted into the Weather Underground field simply never appears on the map.

Because the upload uses the same normalized observation that powers your public site, the numbers on Weather Underground and on your own website stay consistent. Upload credentials are stored encrypted and used only server-side.

You can do both at once. Weather Underground gives the station reach and comparison neighbours, while your Pro Weather site keeps the permanent archive, the branding, and the address you control. That split matters more than it used to: Weather Underground retired its public API at the end of 2018, so treat the network as a place your data goes, not as a way to get it back out. The same relay mechanism can feed CWOP, WOW, Windy, AWEKAS, Weathercloud, and other supported destinations in parallel, each configured independently.
