Editing stored data
Correct or remove a bad reading that is already in your history, and make the correction stick.
The data editor fixes readings that are already stored. Open Setup → Data in your site's dashboard. It is available on Pro and during the trial.

Find the reading
On Browse and edit, pick a station (if you have more than one) and a day. Times are your station's local time. If a day has more readings than fit, pick an hour.
Don't know the date? The links to your highest and lowest temperature, strongest gust and wettest day jump straight there. That is where a bad reading almost always shows up.
Correct a reading
Click a reading to open it. You can change temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind gust, wind direction, pressure, rainfall, solar radiation and UV index, in your site's units. Clear a field to drop just that value and keep the rest of the reading.
When you save:
- Dew point, heat index and wind chill are recalculated.
- The interval's stored high and low are cleared. Records and the almanac read those first, so leaving them would keep the value you came to fix.
Changed readings are marked edited in the table.
Remove a reading
Open the reading and choose Remove. Its values are emptied and the timestamp stays as an empty slot.
The empty slot is what keeps it gone. Pro Weather re-reads recent station history on every update and re-checks the last year for short days, so a deleted row would be re-imported with the bad value. An empty slot is not.
Remove a range
For hours or days of garbage from a sensor or an import, use the Remove a range tab. Enter a start and an end and confirm. Every reading in between is emptied, and wind directions in that window are removed from the wind rose.
A range can span up to three months and cannot be undone.
Undo a change
The Recent changes tab lists your edits. Anything except a range removal can be undone, restoring the original values exactly. Only the newest change to a reading can be undone, so undo the second of two edits first.
Good to know
- An edited or removed reading no longer takes updates from your station. That is what makes the fix permanent. If the same wrong value keeps arriving, fix it with calibration or at the sensor.
- Values you type must be ones a weather station could measure. Anything outside those bounds is rejected, just as it would be from the station.
- Changes apply everywhere at once: charts, records, the almanac, your CSV export and your public site.
