Community
The owners-only community in the dashboard: six groups for product updates, general talk, troubleshooting, station setup and tips, plus an automatic weekly records post comparing public stations.
Every account has access to a small community inside the dashboard, at Community in the sidebar. It is only for people running a Pro Weather site, it is not indexed by search engines, and it is where questions get answered by other owners as well as by us.
The groups
| Group | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Updates | Product news and notes from Lennart, who builds and runs Pro Weather. Read-only for everyone else. |
| General | Weather stations, weather, and meeting other owners. |
| Records | The week's stand-out readings across public stations, posted automatically every Sunday (see below). |
| Troubleshooting | Help with data, sensors and connections. |
| Station setup | Mounting, siting and hardware advice. |
| Tips and ideas | Setups, dashboards and discoveries worth sharing. |
A dot next to a group in the list means it holds a message you have not seen. Your own posts never count as unread.
Posting
Pick a group and write in the box at the top. Messages are plain text, up to 1,000 characters, and appear under the title of your first site (or its address, if it has no title yet), so other owners can click through to your station. You can delete your own messages at any time; the group shows the most recent fifty.
Posting is limited to ten messages in five minutes, which keeps the groups readable.
Weekly community records
Every Sunday the Records group gets an automatic post naming the public stations with the week's lowest temperature, highest temperature, most rain, most sunshine and strongest gust, over the seven days just ended.
To be compared, a station needs at least five measured days in the week, each with a reasonable number of readings, and its site has to be published and on an active plan. Draft sites and sites whose trial or subscription has lapsed are never included, and the station compared is the one your public site shows.
Participation is on by default. To keep your station out of it, open Account and turn off Include my public station under Weekly community records.
