Chart builder

The Build a chart tab lets a visitor draw their own chart: up to six measurements from your archive, in colours they pick, over any window up to 400 days. Useful for questions the fixed charts do not answer, such as how soil temperature tracked air temperature through a frost.

Turning it on

Switch Chart builder on under Homepage → Sections and tabs. It opens your whole archive to anyone who visits, so it is a switch you set on purpose. New sites start with it on. It is part of Pro and the free trial.

What a visitor can do

• Pick up to six measurements. Only measurements your station has data for in the last 400 days are offered.
• Change each series' colour. The change applies only to their own chart.
• Set a from and to time, up to 400 days apart and no earlier than your oldest reading. The tab opens on the last seven days.

The measurements on offer: temperature (air, dew point, heat index, wind chill, wet bulb, indoor, daily high and low), humidity (outdoor and indoor), wind (average, gust, wind run), pressure (sea level and station), rain (amount, rate, storm total), sun (solar radiation, UV, evapotranspiration), PM1, PM2.5 and PM10, lightning, snow (depth and 24-hour snowfall), and every soil, leaf, extra sensor and probe channel your hardware supplies.

Series with the same unit share an axis.

How the data is summarised

Temperatures and most readings are averaged per step, gusts and rain rates take the maximum, and rainfall, wind run and evapotranspiration are summed. Values follow your site's units and times follow your station's time zone.
