Climate reports (NOAA style)
Monthly and annual climatological summaries built from your own archive, on screen and as a plain-text download.
The Reports tab prints the climatological summary that every serious weather-station install produces: a month as one row per day, a year as one row per month, in the same layout weewx and CumulusMX have generated for decades. It is built entirely from readings your own station recorded.
Where it appears
Reports show up as a Reports tab on your public site once your archive holds about a week of complete days. Turn the tab on or off under Settings → Weather features → Climate reports.
Like the almanac, reports are part of the Pro plan and your free trial.
The monthly summary
One row per day, with a totals row underneath:

Under the table you get the day counts a climate summary always carries: how many days the maximum reached 30 °C (90 °F), how many stayed at or below freezing, how many nights fell to freezing or to -20 °C (0 °F), and how many days of rain cleared each of three thresholds.
The annual summary
Pick a year instead of a month and you get three tables:
- Temperature - per month: average high, average low, mean, degree days, the year's extremes with their dates, and the four day counts.
- Precipitation - per month: total, the wettest single day and its date, and the days-of-rain counts.
- Wind - per month: average speed, strongest gust with its date, and the dominant direction.
Each table ends with a row for the whole year, and that row is by construction the sum of the months printed above it.
Degree days
Heating and cooling degree days are calculated from each day's mean temperature against a base of 18.3 °C / 65 °F - the convention national climate summaries use, and the default in both weewx and CumulusMX. The base and the method are printed on the report so a number is never ambiguous.
Not the same as growing degree days
The Garden & agriculture tab has its own growing degree days on a different base, aimed at crops rather than buildings. The two are unrelated.
The text download
Every report has a Download as text link that produces the classic
fixed-width file, named NOAA-2026-08.txt for a month and NOAA-2026.txt for a
year - the same names weewx and CumulusMX use, so a downloaded report drops
straight into an archive you already keep.
The text file is deliberately not translated: its column positions are the format, and it is the version people mail to a club, diff year over year and feed to other tools. The tables on your site are the translated, readable version of the same numbers.
Both files follow your site's unit system, so a metric site gets °C, mm and km/h and an imperial one gets °F, inches and mph.
What your hardware affects
Every figure comes from readings already in your archive, so nothing new needs collecting. Two columns depend on where your archive comes from:
- Dominant wind direction needs a bearing stored with each reading. Stations on a WeatherLink Pro/Pro+ plan have always had this. Stations on WeatherLink Basic, or hardware that pushes to Pro Weather directly, began storing it in August 2026, so those sites show a direction from that point forward and a dash before it.
- Times of the daily extremes are exact on a WeatherLink Pro/Pro+ archive (the console records the minute). On other archives the time shown is the reading that set the extreme, so it is accurate to your refresh interval.
A day marked with an asterisk had too few readings to cover the whole day - a gap in collection, or the first day you connected. It is still printed, but its high and low are the extremes of what was actually measured.
Corrections carry through
If you fix or remove a reading in the Data editor, the affected month's report updates with it. Removed readings never count toward a day's coverage or its extremes.
